S-1 Awards

The mission of S-1 Awards Section is to provide the squadron with timely processing of awards, and to provide advice and quality assurance to officers recommending awards for heroism or meritorious service.

All awards must be submitted within the stated deadlines in order for the recipient to receive the award before the recipient leaves, either PCS or retirement. It is the policy of the Commanding Officer, that awards that are earned while at H&HS will be awarded while the Marine or Sailor is at H&HS.

Timeline for Submission of Awards
Legion of Merit	150 days before award date
Meritorious Service Medal	120 days before award date
Navy Commendation Medal	90 days before award date
Navy Achievement Medal	60 days before award date
